How to Turn Off and Clear AutoFill Data in Different Web Browsers

Autofill, also known as auto-complete, is something that all the new browsing programs have. This feature allows users to save time as it provides relevant data in the drop-down. But, if you keep getting undesired autofill suggestions and want to clear the data or just disable the feature, then you can easily do so. Here’s how you can clear and disable Autofill entries in your web browsers:

Google Chrome

Disable Autofill in Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.

2. Hit the hamburger icon at the top-right.

3. Select Settings from the menu.

4. Scroll down and hit the Show advanced settings option.

5. Navigate to Passwords and Forms.

6. Un-select the Enable Autofill option.

Clear Autofill Information in Chrome

1. Launch Google Chrome on your device.

2. Press the hamburger icon at the upper-right corner.

3. Select Tools from the menu.

4. Click on Clear browsing data.

5. Now, select the beginning of time option for clearing all the saved information.

6. Ensure that the Clear saved Autofill form data box is selected.

7. Hit the Clear browsing data option.

Mozilla Firefox

Disable Autofill in Firefox

1. Open the Firefox browser.

2. Hit the hamburger icon located at the upper right corner.

3. Select Options from the list.

4. Now, select Privacy.

5. Navigate to the History section.

6. Select Use custom settings for history.

7. Unselect the box next to Remember search and form history.

8. Hit the OK button.

Clear Autofill information in Firefox

1. Launch the Mozilla Firefox browser.

2. Press the hamburger button located at the upper right corner.

3. Select History from the list.

4. Now, choose Clear recent history.

5. Select Everything in the Time Range to Clear list.

6. See the items that are to be cleared by going to details.

7. Ensure that the Form and Search History option is selected.

8. Hit the Clear Now button.

Safari

Turn off Autofill in Safari

1. Launch the Safari browser.

2. Hit the Safari menu option located at the upper side of the screen.

3. Select the option called Preferences.

4. Now, click on AutoFill.

5. Remove the checkmark from Using info from my Contacts Card.

6. Remove the checkmark next to Other Forms.

7. Hit the Done button.

Clear Autofill Information in Safari

1. Launch the Safari browser.

2. Click on Safari to open the menu.

3. Select Preferences from the list.

4. Click on AutoFill.

5. Go to User Names and Passwords.

6. Select the Edit option.

7. Now, hit the Remove all button.

8. Click on Done.
